I don't want to wait for our lives to be over.
I want to know right now, what will it be?
I don't want to wait for our lives to be over.
Will it be yes or will it be sorry?

His fingers dart up to his tie, one final adjustment to check if it's tight enough, another adjustment to the left, his collar straightened and he looks back to the mirror, the face of an eleven year old that shouldn't be this serious about his first day of school. Smile, Percy, he can hear his mother say if she was in the room. Percy turns around anyway, out of instinct, his thoughts getting the better of him, but there's nothing there, just boxes of Bill and Charlies' old items, passed onto him, Ron sleeping in the bed next to his own.

CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: Percy Weasley
Canon: Harry Potter; Post-Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Pre-Epilogue.
Age: 21.
Physical Appearance: Percy Weasley is tall and skinny, a stick figure among a family of well built Quidditch players, with horn rimmed glasses.

History: The third child of Molly and Arthur Weasley, sibling to Bill and Charlie, elder brother to Fred, George, Ron, and Ginny, Percy Weasley felt like the middle child, one destined to prove himself above everyone else. Where Bill had an affable personality and earned a number of well to do grades, setting a standard for his fellow siblings, Charlie carried the brawns, earning a position on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. When it came time for Percy to start Hogwarts, we see him as an overachiever, deliberately going out of his way to earn top marks and grades to earn him the slightest bit of distinction from his elder brothers and to set himself apart from his younger brothers Fred and George, who would be starting two years after.

Personality: Percy is your standard, run of the mill stickler for authority and regulation. He is an extremely dedicated worker, more often than not going above and beyond the call of duty. As such, he will often abandon just about anything in order to ensure that his work earns the highest attention, even to the point of neglecting his family. Percy’s ambitiousness results in him attempting to look dignified and professional but more often than not ends up with teasing marks from his family, where he rarely, if at all manages to fit with. To others, Percy will seem arrogant and pompous, earning him rounds of derision.

At the same time, Percy has a tendency to be highly opinionated, which correlates with his personal goals of achieving Minister of Magic. During several points in his schooling and entry level Ministry jobs, Percy would offer his own opinion on how to change and alter flaws, but still seeking to make a good impression on anyone who could potentially help him seek his goals.

His goals and attempts closely resemble that of a social climber. This need to stand out most likely emerges from his own social growth with his siblings as he was often the brunt of his sibling’s jokes, often flushing easily when embarrassed or angry. Percy has built an enclosure around himself – defenses virtually impenetrable and jokes & insults responded with silence or sarcasm. Coming from a family of seven, Percy has taken it upon himself to rise above his brothers and sister, especially alongside of high expectations from his elder two brothers.

Percy lets his guard down around those particularly close to him, and has shown to have a rather dry sense of humor. In the absence of the Ministry conflict, Percy has emerged more relaxed and laid back, although his own desire for authority, rules, and regulations is still evident.

During his post-Hogwarts career, Percy found himself enchanted by life at the Ministry, a step closer to fulfilling his personal goal of Minister of Magic. Regardless of the fact that he was roughly the equivalent of an errand boy assigned to seemingly insignificant topics (cauldron bottoms, anyone?), Percy took his role in the Department of International Magic Cooperation seriously, often spending extra hours purely for the idealism of his position. According to his youngest brother Ron, Percy dedicated himself to work to the point where he would remain there unless his father brought him home. In this position, Percy retained his pompous attitude, showing respect to only those who deserved it - namely his boss and influential figures who could potentially help him rise within the Ministry.

As a junior staffer, Percy also inherited knowledge about future international plans - namely the Triwizard Tournament - and delighted in his sources to the point where he would drop hints towards his siblings. He flaunted this knowledge often to the point of arrogance and irritation towards his siblings, who took it in stride that more or less it meant nothing and Percy was simply desperate for attention about his position.

Percy's blind love for the Ministry set him apart from his family during the return of Lord Voldemort. Despite evidence from a close family friend as well as his former Headmaster, Percy opted to side for the Ministry in their rejection of Voldemort's return. He insisted that the Ministry was right nevertheless and Dumbledore and Harry were merely attention seekers looking to discredit the Ministry, resulting in a furious row between him and his father and ultimately led to the estrangement of Percy from his family. Despite concrete evidence and the Ministry's ultimate acceptance of Voldemort, Percy still refused to admit to his mistakes and continued to side with the Ministry rather than apologize to his family for his hardheadedness. Ultimately Percy eventually overcame his blind love for the Ministry and came to his family's aid in the Battle of Hogwarts. He apologized for his actions, calling himself a fool for acting the way he did.

His redemption after the downfall of Voldemort reconciled his differences with his family. Percy returned to the Ministry, working as a high ranking official, and far more level headed as opposed to urged by pure blindness.
